Created by Victoire Schmitz around 1870. Henri Matisse stayed in this hotel in 1916, as well as Thérèse Martin (Ste Thérèse de Lisieux) in 1887, Anton Tchekhov in 1891 and 1894, Maria Pia, Queen of Portugal, in 1900. The building on the sea side was transformed into apartments in 1984.
