The name of this street pays tribute to the Brea family, leader of a painting school of Nice from the 15th to the 16th century.
Louis (or Ludovic) Brea, painter from Nice (1458-1523) author of famous polyptychs, his younger brother, Antoine (1504-1545) and his son, François (1530-1562), also authors of religious paintings.
