Coming from a family of merchants in the Old Town, Raoul Bosio (1913-1994) was close to Mayor Jean Médecin and he sat on the Municipal Council until 1989. He was vice-president of the departmental assembly from 1973 to 1982, regional councilor from 1975, and vice-president of the regional assembly from 1986 to 1992.
